York Races 2013 – A Message from the Regimental Lieutenant Colonel

A message from the Regimental Lieutenant Colonel to Coldstreamers everywhere…

YORK RACES – SATURDAY 12th OCTOBER 2013

After the enormous success of last year we plan to go BIG again for the Coldstream Association Cup Race Day at York Racecourse on Saturday 12th October. The Regiment will have exclusive use of a marquee by the finishing post which provides an excellent meeting point for us to catch up with old friends, enjoy a beer, place a bet and watch the races. This event is not exclusive to members of the Association, it is open to all Coldstreamers, past and present and their guests – please come along, it’s a fantastic day.

Once again the York Race Course Committee have generously offered us preferential rates on entry to the course; County Stand Badge – £17, Grandstand & Paddock £11. To gain access to the Regimental Marquee you will only require a Grandstand & Paddock Badge.

There are two ways to apply for your badges; the easiest way is through your local Branch Secretary or you can apply to the Racecourse direct.

Branch Secretaries will be able to assist you even if you aren’t a member of the Association – a list of Branch Secretaries e-mail addresses can be provided by LSgt Homer at RHQ so that you can order your tickets through a Branch local to you. You can contact him on:

If applying direct you must be able to demonstrate that you are a Coldstreamer – you can do this by using official letterhead and quoting your regimental number to:

or online to; Karen Dunbar (bookings@yorkracecourse.co.uk) – use my name or cut and paste this message.

Payment by cheque should be made to ‘York Racecourse’.

This should prove to be another great Coldstream event. Very relaxed, no ceremony and great fun. Please come.
