York Branch kits out ‘The Coldstreamer’

Recently, our Treasurer, Ernest Sawdon, came across a pub near Penzance in Cornwall that goes by the name ‘The Coldstreamer’. Having met the new owner, he established the history of the pub, which had been named in honour of a local notable family who had lost a family member serving with regiment. Ernest noted that there was little decor to emphasise the significance of the pub’s name, so he promised the owner he would source a few items of Coldstream significance. Having gathered a small treasure trove of regimentalia, Ernest returned to the Coldstreamer a few weeks later to hand over the items to a very thankful landlord. So if you are in the area, please pop in and see if you recognise any of the faces on the various regimental photographs that now adorn the walls, along with other items of significance. How nice that the regiment now has its very own pub! Thank you Ernest and well done for your efforts on behalf of the branch.
